The Mach-1 2019

The Mach 1  is a close cousin of the DragonFly but features a more forgiving 50/50 rail.   With an emphasis on creating a fish which performs like a shortboard, has the speed and thrust of a planing hull and the paddle strength of a fish.  Keep in mind, this is a high performance fish that rides great in 2'-6' waves and is another incredible travel companion. Ride this  board as a Twin with the Vulcan Trapezoid Keels, or Quad with Flat 4's or Split Keels..

Usual suspects:

The MegaSimmons 2019

The MegaSimmons is a new model for 2019. In small and modest conditions  the MegaSimmons is the most asked for board in the lineup.   The MegaSimmons also thrives in larger, high tide conditions.  Full length concave to accelerated triple gives this larger format board the thrust, speed and maneuverability that most people love about performance shortboards. Designed for max hydroplaning and flat out speed the MegaSimmons is incredibly fun to surf.   Designed to be ridden as a performance alternative to a mid length/speed egg or whenever you are just feeling lazy.

Usual suspects:

6' 6" x  21 1/2"  x  2 7/8"   V= 46.71 L

7' 0" x  23 1/4"  x  3 1/8"   V= 59.37 L

7' 4" x  23 1/8"  x  3 1/8"   V= 60.19 L

The Dragonfly 2019

The Dragonfly is the evolving creation stemmed from parent boards, The Tachyon and The Hexafish. Not only does this board bring elements of natural speed from our planing hulls, but also a steady flow through flat sections. This board can handle mushy waist high surf, to hollow overhead waves. Because of the aggressive rail outline, combined with a planing hull bottom, The Dragonfly may have proven to be our most versatile board we offer.  Surf this board aggressively, as it combines our highest performance aspects.  Surf as a quad for greater hold orand a twin keel for rythm and flow.

Usual suspects:

5'4x 19 5/8 x 2 5/16 V= 27.6 L

5'7x 19 7/8" x 2 9/16" V= 32.6 L

5'10x 20" x 2 5/8" V=34.7 L

Dane's Dimensions: 5'9" x 20" x 2 5/8" V= 32. L

The Tachyon 2019

The Tachyon is a new design inspired by Dane's ambition to combine speed and drive characteristics from twin keels to the positive characteristics of true planing hulls. The Tachyon is well suited in all conditions given that it paddles extremely well and can flow through flat sections.   This board surfs extremely well as a quad, thruster or twin.  A critical feature of the design is that the board is complemented very well with the Trapezoid Keel fins, which offer excellent drive and control. Believe it or not, this board will still go vertical or you can bury your rail; whichever you prefer.

Usual suspects:

5'2 x 19 5/8 x 2 3/16" V=28.7

5'4" x 20" x 2 5/16" V=31.5

5'6" x 20 1/4" x 2 3/8"  V=33.2

5'8" x 20 1/2" x 2 7/16"  V= 35.6

The Hexafish 2019

The Hexafish was introduced in 2016, and has evolved into the 2019 version.   The Hexafish is a planing fish inspired by elements of our well loved planing hulls.  The Hexafish cruises through all conditions with fluid rhythm and speed to burn while the down rail design gives you plenty of lateral bite on the face of steeper waves.   A critical feature of the design is the shallow fish tail which allows you to get your feet behind the fin cluster for greater leverage and control.  The natural speed and acceleration of our planing hull concaves lends to a more relaxed approach when navigating sections and critical areas without breaking your style.

Usual suspects:

5'4" x 20 3/4" x 2 3/8" V=28.3

5'6" x 21" x 2 1/2"  V=31

5'8" x 21 1/4 x 2 11/16"  V= 34.9

5'10" x 21 3/8" x 2 11/16" V=36.3

6'0" x 2 1/2" x 2 3/4" V=38.2

The Arctail Fish 2019

The Arctail Fish is a very unique board because it combines the the functionality of a fish with the performance of a thruster. The smooth outline combined with the rounded tail contributes to a fast and stable feeling.  Like most of the boards, The Arctail Fish is designed with a neutral balance, which means the volume of the board is distributed equally on either side of center of gravity, which gives it a stable and sure footed feel.   While The Arctail Fish is similar to The Hexafish in terms of speed and acceleration, but with greater top to bottom performance.  If you were curious about a planing hull but couldn't get past the square nose, then this is the board for you.  Works equally well as a quad or thruster set-up.

Usual suspects:

5'4" x 19 3/4" x 2 3/8" V=27.4

5'6" x 20" x 2 1/2" V=30

5'8" x 20 1/4" x 2 5/8" V=33

5'10"x 20 1/2" x 2 11/16" V=35.2

6'0" x 20 3/4"x 2 3/4" V=37.6

The Polymath 2019

The Polymath is a blend of all the things I love.   Performance, art and design.  The Polymath excels in small surf and adapts nicely to steeper faces, reefier waves and racey low tide conditions.  More rocker than the Archetype and Bullshark with greater outline curve as well.  Neutral balance design, 50/50 rails with a single to deep triple concave.   Ride as a quad for max speed and a thruster for greater hold.

The Archetype 2019

The Archetype is our planing hull concept.  The Archetype excels in small surf, slopey rolling waves or soft high tide conditions where other boards leave you feeling frustrated due to a lack of paddle power.  The Archetypes ultra low rocker has been slightly raised for the new year while the straight rail line and fuller foil and rails still  provide the hull speed necessary to slip into the realm of those 'longboard only' days.  Multiple tail configurations available.  Ride as a quad for max speed and a thruster for greater hold.

Usual suspects:

5'4" x 20" x 2 1/2"  V=31.4

5'5" x 20 1/4" x 9/16"  V=33.2

5'6" x 20 1/2 x 2 5/8"  V= 34.9

REVIEW

The BullShark 2019

The 2019 BullShark is a wide outline planing hull, slightly more performance oriented than the Archetype.  Designed with an ultra low entry rocker, straight rail line and 60/40 rails. Slightly increased nose rocker for 2015 and increased toe in the cluster.  These are an absolute blast to surf and can handle small to average waves with power and aggression. Paddle into gutless waves with effortless glide. Ride as a quad for max speed and a thruster for greater hold.

Usual suspects:

5'4" x 20 3/8" x 2 3/8"  V=30.5

5'5" x 20 1/2" x 2.5"  V=32.5

5'6" x 20 5/8"  x 2 5/8"  V=34.7

The Tomahawk 2019

The Tomahawk is perfected for small to average wave performance surfing.   A low slung rocker,  deep single concave and boxy  50/50 rails yield fluid planing, immediate speed and powerful snap in weak to average conditions.  The trailing wide point and wide tail-block create no-stall lift in weak conditions while off-the-tail thrust keeps things lively with a highly flickable feel.

Usual suspects:

6'0" x 20" x 2.56"  V=33.8

5'10" x 19.75" x 2.375"  V=30.1

5'8" x 19.5" x 2.31"  V=28.1
