The Catalyst 2019

The Catalyst is a new model that was introduced in 2017. The Catalyst is a high performance, rounded thumb. The board was inspired through collaboration between Dane and Team Rider Garrett Aanestad to suit pocket surfing.  A deep single concave that starts at the nose and exits through the tail  yields immediate planing and lift.  The rounded thumb allows for an easier edge to flow through the rail, making for a more connected and smooth turn. A special feature of this board is that it can handle an exaggerated bottom turn without kicking out. Keep in mind, this a high performance board for solid surf. Surf in the chest high+, preferably in waves that are steeper and more hollow. Ride this  board as a thruster only.

Usual suspects:

6'4"x 19 7/8" x 2 3/4" V=37

6'2"x 19 3/4"x 2 5/8" V=35

6'0"x 19 5/8"x 2 9/16" V= 33

5'10"x 19 1/2"x 2 3/8" V=30

5'8"x  19 3/8" x 2 5/16" V=28

Garrett's Dimensions: 6'2" x 19 1/8" x 2 5/16" V= 29.99

The Falcon 2019

The Falcon was a new model set for 2016, and has evolved into the 2019 version. The Falcon is a high performance, hipped squash shortboard.  A deep single concave that starts at the nose and exits through the tail flat yields immediate planing and lift.  The hipped squash and tucked rail contributes acute directional surfing and pivots on a dime when going top to bottom. A special feature of this board is that it allows the user to over-rotate turns with confidence and control. Ride this board as a thruster only.

Usual suspects:

6'4"x 19 11/16"x 2 5/8" V=35.4

6'2"x 19 9/16"x 2 9/16" V=33.4

6'0"x 19 7/16"x 2 1/2" V= 31.3

5'10"x 19"x 2 7/16" V=29.2

5'8"x 18 7/8" x 2 3/8" V=27.4

5'6"x 18 3/4" x 2 5/16" V=25.7

The Tomahawk 2019

The Tomahawk is perfected for small to average wave performance surfing.   A low slung rocker,  deep single concave and boxy  50/50 rails yield fluid planing, immediate speed and powerful snap in weak to average conditions.  The trailing wide point and wide tail-block create no-stall lift in weak conditions while off-the-tail thrust keeps things lively with a highly flickable feel.

Usual suspects:

6'0" x 20" x 2.56"  V=33.8

5'10" x 19.75" x 2.375"  V=30.1

5'8" x 19.5" x 2.31"  V=28.1

The Pantera 2019

It's hard not to like the performance of a hipped squash, they just work.  Match that with our unique low-forward rocker + neutral balance volume and you have a thruster that's not just absurdly predictable but paddles and generates speed at will.  A generous block gives the Pantera a solid platform for driving off the tail while giving snaps and gouges a powerful feel. Recommended as a thruster ONLY.

Usual suspects:
6' x 19.25"  x 2.375"  V=32.7

5'10" x 19" x 2.30"  V=25.3
5'8" x 18.75 x 2.25"  V=23.5

The Viper 2019

The modern shortboard workhorse.   Shorter and stalkier than traditional shortboards, the Pit Viper takes advantage of generous foil and relaxed entry rocker to achieve excellent hull speed and acceleration.   60/40 rails mated to a deep single concave make the Pit Viper fast with great drive out of turns.  Slightly relaxed tail rocker for 2015 gives the Viper better flow. Ride 1" to 2" shorter than your average shortboard.  Ride as a quad or thruster.

Usual suspects:
6' x 19.25"  x 2.375"  V=32.6

5'10" x 19" x 2.25"  V=25.7
5'8" x 18.75 x 2.18"  V=23.9

The MIG 2019

Winner of the 2013 Boardroom International 'Best Shortboard Design'.

The MIG is built for speed and DRIVE.  Designed with a low forward entry rocker mated to a deep single concave which exits through a unique channeled, micro jet tail.  The wild looking design creates a controlled hydroplaning effect at speed for slipping past closeout sections and driving through critical surf.  60/40 rails  provide positive lock on steep and lateral takeoffs.

Ride as a quad for max speed and a thruster for greater hold.

Usual suspects:

6'0" x 20.25" x 2.5"  V=32.2

5'10" x 20" x 2.42  V=29.9

5'8" x 19.75 x 2.375"  V=28.1

REVIEW!

The Yellow Jacket 2019

Winner of the 2014 Boardroom International 'Best Shortboard Design'.

The Yellow Jacket is built to give agile performance in the broadest range of waves.  The deep single to triple provides immediate glide while paddling and great speed and hold while planing.  The diamond tail gives this board turn on a dime pivot for snappy performance in the pocket.  The Yellow Jacket is stupid fast and goes backhand like a boss.  We get a lot of use from our shop boards because they paddle well, perform dependably and shine in everything from thigh high to head high waves.  Ride as a quad for max speed and a thruster for greater hold.

Usual suspects:

6'0" x 20.25" x 2.5"  V=32.2

5'10" x 20" x 2.42  V=29.9

5'8" x 19.75 x 2.375"  V=28.1
